Oh beautiful land we have acquainted ourselves upon
I smell the earth and grass we have sown
Each flower we multiply their sweet breath filling the air

We have built out of stone not metal it’s cool to the touch
At night we sit watching the deep embers of the sun set
deep beyond the sea

The temple lights flicker in the distance a symbol of our
undying desire to move past our weakness through the
god’s power to design such greatness

Soon we will name the mountains and river to signify
our presence on this land this is how life moves
forward through the rubble and shame

Each and every day we pray for the others not so
fortunate those who stayed behind
One day our children’s children will forget the star we
called home
Forget the land that almost destroyed us all
Forever to recreate greatness

Tomorrow we celebrate never to return
this is home, this is living
